Hey guys, this is Mixedfan8643 with a journal entry that is STRICTLY ONLY FOR ARCHIE SONIC FANS. NO ARCHIE SONIC HATERS ALLOWED IN THIS JOURNAL. OK?

Anyhow, since the Mecha Sally arc is sadly drawing to a close (that's how much I love it, I'm sad it's over) I thought I'd ask you Archie Sonic fans this. What has been YOUR favourite part of the saga? What's been your favourite issue and what do you like the most about this epically underrated saga? I personally say:

Favourite part: All the character development, the epic twists and the world tour we've been getting
Favourite issue(s): Issues 231, 234, 241 and 243-246
What I like the most about it: The sheer epicness of it all that's made it a joy to read and a pleasure to wait for the next issue. I love how Ian Flynn took a lot of risks and twisted a lot of turns to give us a new story for Sonic the Hedgehog and open up doors for new stories in the future.

So what have you Archie Sonic fans got to say? Do leave a comment or two below and express your feelings on this saga of epicness! :D

Well that's it from me, this is Mixedfan8643 signing out.

I don't really have a favorite issue with the latest arc. It was pretty solid overall. I'm really curious about how the entire issue is going to be resolved though, with the new genesis wave hitting the world and the small megaman crossover. Even though ian is a great writer he sometimes drops the ball with tying up the ending of an arc.(For example. The entire nicole forgave mina almost instantly dispite helping to make her life hell did seem a bit unsatisfying to me.) Still, I'm looking forwards to it!

I also enjoyed Sonic 235 and 236. They really stand out to me. I liked how Ian showed the emotion and heart break in Sonic 235. It made me really care about the characters and it also helped the impact of Dr. Eggmans comback from the count down in 224 to the aftermath of 230. His take on Tails conversation with his dad was spot on and I love that scene where it had Sonic shut in his room with him playing his guitar as he thought about Antoine & the times where he teased him and joke with him and it made him feel guilty. It showed that Sonic has a 3 dimensional personality. Just think Sonic is the kind of guy that will not cry but he is expressing his hurt in a different way which is playing his guitar with his bedroom door shut not wanting to talk to anyone. Just think your good friend who risked his life for the real king is hurt and you feel bad about all the times you've teased him. I liked the way he showed even compasion for Amy when she was crying and wanting to help Sonic feel better. I also liked the part where Sonic spin dashed Silver when he accused Antoine of being the traitor. -To sum it all up together the character reactions were all spot on to me, because of their personalities in the past it seems they acted like they all were supposed to act. No out of character moments or no over the dramatic moments here. Ian wrote it just right.

I loved it when despite the city turning on Nicole, Rotor stood up for her and Nicole cried happy tears. Loved that moment. Unlike the stupid trend that the SatAM Purists and Ian haters a like that said that Sonic gave up in 236, I actually read the very next thing that Sonic said and it wasn't him giving up. It was him coming with a plan for another approach. Serously was it that hard? They read that one bubble and quit reading?

I also enjoyed the idea of the Secret Freedom Fighters. When I heard that I was like, "Ah, yeah!"-That was pretty clever. I never thought of that. I also thought it was pretty clever with the aftermath of Robotnik's Genesis wave and how it affected Ixis Naugus with the 3 spirits inside him tormenting him.

I don't like Hershey the cat, but I was willing to see what Ian had for us with that, but thanks to Ken and Sega Ian had to change a lot of things. The arc could have been even more awesome, but I still enjoyed it. The awesome Knuckles and thrash fight was pretty sick. It's just that I wish Ben Bates, Jamal Peppers, of Spaz could have drawn more comics, because I can't stand Steven Butler's art.
Sonic Unviverse was perfect. 10 out of 10 writing from Ian. Dr. Eggman, Mighty, and Babylon arcs were just perfect.

The plant being use to deroboticize Sally was pretty was pretty, clever as well.

Ian is an awesome writer. I hope he stays on for a long time and if he doesn't, Tracy Yardley should come on board. I loved the Babylon Rouges arc.

Those are very good moments and very well spoken Ezekiel. Your reasons are legit and very well put together.

Yeah, I hate how people thought Sonic was giving up in 236, he wasn't. Those guys are idiots.

I'm glad Hershey wasn't in the arc. She's a useless character anyway. I'm glad that despite all the meddling, you're still enjoying the arc buddy.

I agree on that.

I agree on that too. I don't know why some people aren't buying it or think it's "deus-ex-machina" because it isn't. Far from it.

You said it, Ian Flynn is an awesome writer and I hope he stays on too. I don't think he's going anywhere any time soon so don't worry, we'll get plenty more awesomeness from him.

I am sorry I didn't get back to you. It's been a tough week for me. My grandmother passed and it' s been taking me a while to get over it.

Ian is such a great writer, he can work with even some Ken's characters except for the Knuckle recolors. The way Ian wrote Shard was amazing. I never thought that he would be that popular. Fans love Shard. Even though I am glad that Hershey is gone and that I can't stand her. Ian had plans with her and the others and I believed the comio could have been better, but it is still awesome none the less.

I don't like how people are just hating on Ian about this arc. It's still enjoyable, but if there is anyone that should be blamed on disrupting what was supposed to be Ian's mater piece it is the mettling of both Ken Penders and Sega. Sorry, I keep repeating myself. It's just I am so angry at Ken and Sega. I just want to get it off my chest. Uggh!!!!

Still loving your reviews, bro. Your probably quite possibly one of the best reviewers of the Sonic comic that I have ever seen, especially with your latest entry. Your top 15 whew that look it took a doozy to write. I respect you for that. Keep it up, dude!

Oh...oh dear. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you're OK now and my condolences to your grandmother.

I agree on that. Ian made some of Ken and Karl's characters more likeable than before like Geoffrey St. John, Dr. Fintievus, Mina Mongoose, Julie-Su, Dimitri and more. Sadly, he couldn't improve Lien-Da or the other echidnas, I'm glad they're gone. Same with Hershey, she's just wasting space in the comic. I will agree the arc could have been even better but I don't blame characters being removed for that.

Yeah, I can't stand it ethier. Why is Ian Flynn blamed for EVERYTHING when it's not always his fault? Heck, Ian Flynn hasn't done anything wrong! Ken Penders he other hand, every bad thing that happens in the comic is always his fault.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you think that. I do consider myself to be one of the best reviewers of the Sonic Comics out there, mainly because I'm not pessimistic, I have logic and actually think about what I've read instead of voer-analyzing every thing and finding plot-holes that don't exist. I have more logic and common sense in one gigabit then the whole Anti-Archie Sonic Club has in their entire computers My top 15 did take a while to write but I'm very pleased with it. I'm glad you liked it.

So which bits do you agree with the most?

When you ever get bored, if your interested, you should check out cArDoNaNaVaS Shadamy comic called, "Just Shadamy" here on deviantart. I honestly didn't think it was going to be that good. It's very well written with a lot of heart and thought put into it like a really good adult Novel. It's probably not your cup of tea, but it's really good.

I would have commented, but then I realized that my comment would be way to huge to put on here. And then I realized that today is Wednesday and I normally like to change my Journal entry every Wednesday. Random Rant Wednesdays. That's what I call them. Everything I have to say on the arc can be found here. [link]

But as a brief summery, I like the plot, I like Shard, I like the way Eggman acts, I like the fact that They're making me care about the characters.

I've seen it.

Those are good reasons. I'm glad you like them, shows you have better taste then the haters. And the fact you're a Fleetway fan too shows that unlike Vorahk295, you're not a biased Fleetway Sonic fanboy and can actually appreciate both comics.

The thing about this arc that makes me happy is mainly due to Ian Flynn taking a risk with it. He started up an arc with a conflict that could've been simply resolved in 2 or 3 issues (which would've been generic), and he made it into an adventure across the planet. Robotnik is pulling out all the stops to slow down Team Fighters as much as possible, Mecha Sally is making sure she's not going anywhere except back to Robotnik's side, what with her now being an evil Robian, Team Fighters are hunting down Robotnik to take their robiticized ally back while saving other lives along the way, Team Freedom has a city to protect and many hard challenges are met. It's quite a ride. However, if not for Penders' interference, Endangered Species would've turned out much better. No epic action with Mecha Knuckles, Albion becoming so deserted after the first issue of Endangered Species made it look so gray and dull, I don't know what they'll do with the Krudzu to make a roboticizer (maybe they'll make a mobile roboticizer using it's sentience and reprogram to the good side to make that happen, but I don't know), and good lord... *puts on "fanboy release" hat* If there is one thing that grinds my gears as much as Mina getting hurt by some douche-head, it's witnessing a electrokinetic badass appearing before my eyes and getting ready to show some shocking fury, only for said badass to be taken away and wiped from freaking existence not too long after! As a huge fan of characters with electrokinesis, Penders had a lot of GALL disposing of something that cool! Up yours, Penders! Up yours! *takes off "fanboy release" hat* Ahem... anyways, moving on. Looking at the more positive side of the final product of Endangered Species, the first issue of it had some great build-up (it was wasted build-up, but it was still kick-ass), and despite the disappointing later issues of this arc, the action was nice, the Krudzu turning into a scrap behemoth is pretty cool, and Shard is a boss. Enough said.

I'm glad you liked the arc and I agree on everything you said...except for what you thought to Endangered Species.

1: Lien-Da still sucks, even if she has electro powers. Besides, she has no reason to have them other then because Ian Flynn said so. It was a pathetic excuse to make her needlessly powerful and a threat. I couldn't care less if Lien-Da had god powers or something, she's still a horrible character! And no, she is NOT badass. At all. She's a crap character, plain and simple and I'm glad this bitch is gone, hopefully for good. Also, why do you like electro powers so much? They're not that cool really.

2: We did get some epic action with Metal Knuckles, in 243 and in 245 when it was possessed by the Krudzu Hybrid Hydra.

But other then that, I agree on what you've said FusionStorm. I'm glad YOU like this arc unlike SOME people...(glares at the haters).

I'm guess i'm just fond of electrokinesis because of what it could possibly do. Not only can it like fry enemies to death and/or make them react humorously like two-dimensional frame-by-frame images, but if an electrokinetic knew their strength and could utilize their power in different ways, they could manipulate electrically powered devices and machines, they could play tricks on enemies by pretending to be poltergeists, and they could help people by supplying extra electricity and making a quick grilled cheese sandwich. Mmm... Heck, electricity could spark some life into something (at least in fiction).

I know how much you hate Lien-Da, but I personally thought it was a sight to see her get some upgrades, considering that Robotnik is pulling out all the stops he can to keep Team Fighters away from the Robian he can't afford to let them go near.

Ah well, like the old saying goes, to each his own.

Can I go with "All of it"? For the favorite issues, I mean.

Seriously though, I think the Mecha Sally/Amy conversation was great, where Mecha Sally actually got Amy to second-guess her own motives. It was reminiscent of one of my favorite Sonic scenes, where Scourge and Sonic had the "one bad day" conversation.

But my all time favorite part was Mecha Sally's big reveal/Sally's sacrifice. Just the whole scene. It got me to like Sally more than I ever had, and then it took her away and made her evil, just as Sonic was starting to gloat about all the victory chili dogs he was going to eat. And then the look on Sonic's face as he sees her. Gives me chills every time.

And I, too, love all the twists and turns. Keeping a major character like Sally out of commission for so long is really gutsy, even for Ian Flynn, which is why it's awesome.

I agree on everything my friend. Everything you've said was awesome about the arc.

I'm glad you like every issue, even "Endangered Species". I will never for the life of me think why the Mecha Sally arc is so friggin' underrated. It is NOT a bad story in anyway. The haters are all idiots for even thinking that. I will admit it's not perfect but then again, no story ever is perfect. It's definitely not what the haters make it out as at all. Far from it.

i think my favourite part of the arc is this one particular panel in issue #237, illustrated by Steven Butler, before Mecha Sally kidnaps Lupe, where she is explaining to Eggman that peace between the wolf pack and felidae clan is a fragile one, i just love the expression on Sally's face, it sends a chill up my spine every time i see it, and it's what can sum up the transformation without words.

oh, and every single moment that Eggman shares with Orbot and Cubot. Speaking of which, and i know that it isn't part of the main comic arc, but i enjoyed Sonic Universe #37-40. it has Mecha Sally in it, so it counts, dammit! the fight scenes, the drama, the comedy, and we get to see Eggman as his real post-insanity self, we get to see what truly happens when somebody in hsi inner circle double crosses him... and did i mention the comedy? i mean, fuck the off-panels, i want more Orbot and Cubot.

Hmm...Issues 230 and 231 are my favorites out of the arc (if 230 even counts). Mostly because I'm a much bigger fan of Ben Bates' art than Steven Butler's. It was Sally's sacrifice that I liked the most, and while she's cool as a robot, her final moments before the incident were powerful and touching, in my opinion. I can't wait for her to be derobotisized because her new design has really grown on me. :)

This arc has been especially captivating for me. Every time I see Mecha Sally show up, I squeal with delight because I know things are going to get intense. It's been fun, but I'm glad the arc is coming to a proper close.

I dunno, I just see a few anatomy issues in a lot of the females that Steven Butler typically draws. But that's just me. Bates has more of a "Sonic" feel to it, in my opinion (plus for whatever reason, the colors look brighter with Bates' and Yardley's art, even though Matt Herms colors for everyone.)

I have the sketch for it finished. I just need to scan it in and finish it. :)

Yeah, I usually don't notice small stuff like that, but sometimes it's pretty obvious to me. Eh, it is just a matter of personal preference though. There's nothing bad about his art in any sense, he just isn't my favorite for the comic at the moment (but for what it's worth, he used to be! And the stuff he did for the Free Comic Book Day issues a few years back still blows my mind because it's just so fantastic!)

Aww, thanks. :) I try not to make them cute on purpose. It just kind of...happens. Not that that's a bad thing! ;) I'm glad you enjoy my style! Yours is great too!

I enjoyed Sonic 239. Not only because Jamal Peppers is one of my favorite artist but I love that scene where the robot Sonic came out of nowhere in front of Sonic and then Sonic said, "Holy-" That scene was too awesome. I like the 230-247 arc, but it could have been a lot better if Ken Penders and Sega hadn't have butted in.

Eh, SEGA and Penders didn't do enough to ruin it for me. Heck, they haven't even ruined it, it's far from ruined in my eyes so don't let that bother you.

I likes issue 239 too. That issue is often over-looked as filler but the truth is, it's not. It has a purpose and it served it well. That scene you mentioned is a good one.

So what else did you enjoy about the arc?

OOOoooOOO~ That's a tough question. Without a doubt, my 2 favorite issues were 233 and 234, they didn't really have that much to do with Mecha Sally, but I enjoyed them the most, out of the arc. I also really loved how EVIL Eggman was, even rivaling how he acted in issue 175! I like to see him win, every once and awhile, and turning one of the Freedom Fighters into a soulless robot, almost getting a lot of them killed, and much more, it was just awesome! I also liked Ixis Naugus came back, I always thought he was great.

I really like where World's Collide is going, too. I can't wait to see what's gonna happen, once it's all over, though.

I think it has been a great arc, and that it should be put in a trade paperback collection. Yes. Feel, like it has been one of the most important arcs in the sonic comic. Just as important, on how The death in the family story in Batman was, or the hush story. Really, that important. Also, that it doesn't just go back to Status quo, but brings some changes to teh characters. But, Im glad that we get some of our favorite characters back. Im glad that Sally is getting back, And I do love the redesign. Makes it look like she fits even more into the modern Sonic world. Too bad, about the Penders case being in the way and all. I keep wondering how the Endangered species story would have been, if the Penders case didn't come in the way and all. But, A really good arc. A really good Arc indeed. But, I look forward to more arcs from Flynn after the crossover. Maybe, we get a metal Sally. I actually hopes that, cause it could bring even more character developement to Sally. Like a bad memory coming back to haunt her and all.

OOOOO, Thats a tough one. Well,

Favorite part must have been, Actually, in Issue 247 when the Tails doll, evolved into that monster thingy. Then it looked more scary. It didn't look stupid.

Favorite issue must have also been 247. Because, Silver got to shine more, and Tails, treated him with respect. Seriously, I know that Sonic was pissed at Silver and everything, but come on. You could at least treat him with respect. What I liked about the arc the most, must have been the whole, thing that Sally got robotocized. Because, it really brought character developement to ALL the characters. All of them showed more emotions then I could remember. From Tails, SOnic, Amy, Nicole, etc etc.
